International Collaboration and Policy Initiatives: Strengthening Global Efforts to Save the Amazon

  International collaboration and policy initiatives play a crucial role in conservation efforts to protect and restore the Amazon Rainforest. Given the global significance of the Amazon for biodiversity and climate regulation, concerted efforts from governments, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are essential to address the complex challenges facing the forest. The Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO) is a key player in promoting regional cooperation for the sustainable development and conservation of the Amazon Basin. ACTO brings together the eight Amazonian countries—Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela—to coordinate policies and actions aimed at protecting the Amazon.
